Well it seems that both sides have little to cheer about with the exit or booting of the Cleveland Indians from Winter Haven.  The Tribe is gathering lower attendance numbers from the move as fans appear not to be making the trek to Good Year Arizona and the city of Winter Havens visitors are less this season than any time in recent memory. While Winter Haven did get a college playoff series it is not close to the impact that major league baseball supplied. As I understand it the city has signed a 10 year deal with the amateur series. That sounds like an amateur move on their part if it stops another major league ball club from moving to Winter Haven. It's rumored that Baltimore may be looking for a new park. Hope the contract has an out in it. (no pun intended) I wish both sides well but hope to see a major league club return or the land put to good use where the Chain of Lake Ball Field is located. No more condos or Starbucks please!
